The membership of UNSA shall be composed of the following categories:

Full Membership:

Every student in Uganda from a Ministry of Education registered Secondary school or Institution of Higher Learning recorgnised by the National Council for highier Education shall be a member of UNSA.

Honorary Membership:


Honorary membership status shall be bestowed upon such persons
as may be determined by the National Students Council from time
to time basing on the qualifications hereunder.

i). An individual who has been a member of UNSA.

ii). An individual of good reputation and morals.

iii). An individual who has made significant contributions to enable UNSA to achieve its aims and objectives.

Associate Membership:

Ugandan students abroad, and Any organization with similar objectives to those of UNSA may be granted Associate membership by the NSC.

Rights and Obligations of Members:


a. Acceptance of the UNSA Constitution and active contribution to the implementation of its Vision, Mission, Aims and Objectives.
b. To contribute to the implementation of the decisions of the UNSA governing and executive bodies as in accordance with the UNSA constitution, policies, and rules.
c. To pay such dues as are required by the decision of the NSC.
d. Right to elect or be elected with exception of the Honorary and Associate Members.
e. Right to freedom of expression and all other fundamental rights by all stipulations.

Termination of Membership:

The membership of UNSA ceases immediately after confirmation of results of final year exams in a particular level of study except for those in Executive positions of leadership.

A member of UNSA shall have his/her membership terminated by 2/3 majority of the council and such a member shall be informed immediately
